Madeline Buchanan

Madeline Buchanan, 74, passed away December 5, 2022 at Prairie Hills Assisted Living.

Madeline was born February 4, 1948 in Des Moines to Raymond and Margaret (Loffredo) Murray, Sr. She graduated from Des Moines Tech. On August 3, 1968, Madeline married Edward Buchanan. She was a librarian with the Des Moines Public School System for many years. Madeline raised mini schnauzers for several years. She and Ed enjoyed traveling on their motorcycle and were members of the GWRRA.

Madeline is survived by her loving husband, Ed; son, Tony (Michael) Wiley-Buchanan; siblings, Raymond Murray, Jr. and Sue (Eddie) Brose; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her children, Amy Buchanan and Scott Buchanan; sister-in-law, Patty Murray; and her parents.

The family will greet friends Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
