Lloyd Ted Tucker, 88, passed away on December 6, 2022 at Granger Nursing and Rehab. He was born in Des Moines on May 7, 1934, to Clyde and Zella Tucker.
Lloyd proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
He was united in marriage to Ernestine in 1954 and they shared 63 wonderful years together until her passing. Lloyd enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and was known to be very ornery.
Lloyd is survived by his children, Leah (Brian) Allen, Jimmy (Shirley) Tucker, Boyd (Diane) Tucker, Robin (Bob) Walker, and Susan (Ric) Rhoades; grandchildren: Brandi (Paul), Chas (Cherity), Barrett (Meggie), Audrey (Stephen), Ashley, Chelsea (Dustin), Brianna, Shantel (Mark), Alyssa (Windsor), Jodi, Jessica, Hannah (Jesse), Jake (Kay), and Noah (Abbey); great-grandchildren: Taylor, Madison, Karlie, Klayton, Kolton, Kash, Hank, Korbyn, Baylor, Tucker, Kingston, Anna, Ezra, Tryston, Brynlee, Devin, Derek, Zaliya, Emiana, Philip, Ailla, Zach, Drake, Olivia, Chase, Alyssa, Walker, Carter, Serenity, and River; great great-grandchildren: Lennon, Paxtyn, and Beckett; as well as his sister, Rosie Fisher, and sister-in-law, Mina Leah Wigg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Ernestine; grandson, Cody Rhoades, and several siblings.
Services will be on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., in Des Moines. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery.

I work at Granger nursing home. Lloyd was one of my absolute favorite people. He missed his wife so much. But he had a twinkle in his eye and he was a bit ornery.. Really miss him. God bless his family and friends.

My heart is crushed right now. U were my second dad. U and momma Tuck were everything to me. The loss of u is a great loss. U made us smile and showed us what love and hard work really was. U never gave up on any of us. Right or wrong u stood by us and loved us. I can still see u laughing and joking around. Thank u for giving me apart of your life. Ill always love u Papa Tuck.
