Gary Lincoln
December 01, 2022
Gary Gene Lincoln, passed away at the age of 72 at EveryStep Kavanagh House on December 1, 2022.
Gary was born October 1, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa to Gerald “Pete” and Virginia (Thomas) Lincoln.
Gary retired as an over the road semi-truck driver after many years of faithful service. After retiring he couldn’t stay away, and he continued in the trucking industry hauling locally. He was very meticulous about his truck and taking care of it, took great pride in all that he did whether it be professionally or personally. He also had massive knowledge of racing and racing history, especially dirt track racing. His favorite was sprint car racing and always shared the BEST racing stories. He will be missed by all of his racing friends who were blessed to know him from the racing world.
Gary will always be remembered as “one of the good ol’ boys” without a doubt. He was a loyal, hardworking, and loving family man. His smile and laugh were infectious. One of the biggest things to put a smile on his face was seeing and hearing from his grandkids.
He is survived by his daughters, Angie (Chris) Martinez and Chrystal Burton; ten grandchildren; brother, Denny Lincoln; and many other loving relatives and many special friends.
Gary is preceded in death by his children, Kyle Lincoln, Kacey Lincoln, and Chelsea Lincoln; brother, Gerald Lincoln; and his parents.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family or the Comprehensive Cancer Center, 200 Hawkins Drive, Iowa City, Iowa, 52242 in loving memory of Gary.

Deepest sympathy to the family - especially the daughters who stood by their Dad. These past years have been tragic with the loss of his children. He is now with them and all his loved ones who have gone on before. Be at peace - Ill think of Gar and Shar every time I listen to Jackson Browne and Linda Ronstadt. Love from Georgia.
