Rachel Moore

Rachel A. Moore, 69, while surrounded by loved ones, passed away at Methodist Medical Center on December 2, 2022, after a sudden illness. She fought hard right up to the end and found the strength to smile at the silly jokes her daughter made.

Rachel was the daughter of Kenneth and Alyce Snowden in Newton, IA. She held two associate degrees from Ellsworth Community College & Des Moines Area Community College and was a devoted employee of Fareway grocery store in Altoona, IA for 21 years. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends and helping to take care of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Natasha (Joseph) Alton, two grandchildren Zola and Harrison Alton, siblings Kathy (Bill) Beck, Kyle (Leigh) Snowden, Alan (Robin) Snowden, and Sue (Jeff) Sampica. Other survivors include nieces and nephews Amanda Snowden, Rebecca (Kevin) Menard, Jacob (CarolAnne) Snowden, Kimberly (Jasper) Peters, Michael Snowden, Alexander Snowden, and Thomas Snowden, and her ex-husband and friend Samuel Moore.

Rachel was preceded in death by her sister Patsy Snowden, parents Kenneth and Alyce Snowden, and brother-in-law Scott Davis.

Natasha, I worked next to your mom's express register at Fareway for several years. She seemed to know everyone and loved to visit with them. Also, she spoke of you often, and was very proud of you. I'm very sorry for your loss.
