December 04, 2022
Beverly Ann Burchfield Wilson, 93, passed away on December 4, 2022. Bev was born May 8, 1929 in a rural farm home to Ralph Burchfield and Sylvia Wright. She attended 8 years of school in a one room country school house and graduated from Panora High School in 1946.
Following graduation, Beverly moved to Des Moines and worked as a secretary. She married Russell Wilson in 1952. They had one child, Tom, who died August 23, 2008. Bev loved to travel – actually giving up her job as a secretary for a trip to Europe. She was kind hearted to a fault, loved her friends – she was a great one to entertain and have them over, and she treasured dining out with them. Bev was a devoted member of Glen Echo Christian Church.
Beverly leaves her niece, Lee Ann Love of Byron, IL; three nephews, Bob Burchfield of Iowa City, IA, Joel and Jeff Wilson of Jupiter, FL; special neighborhood friends that she loved very much, especially Dylan Degner, Ciara Fangmann, and their father Daryl; and Tom Cameron and the rest of the 28th street neighbors.
Services will be held Friday, December 9, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA with visitation prior from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A luncheon will follow. Beverly’s cremated remains will be buried at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Urbandale Library and condolences expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.
