Edith Irene Butler

Edith Irene Butler, 88, passed away November 27, 2022 at Regency Care Center in Norwalk, Iowa.

Edith was born August 1, 1934 in Des Moines, Iowa to Raymond and Irene (Arrowood) Thompson. She loved children, and enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-granddaughter until they were in school, then before and after school. Edith also took care of other children, mostly from her church and other family members. She loved baking, especially cookies which everyone loved. Edith would even make diabetic cookies so everyone could enjoy her special treats. She was an active member of Clifton Heights Presbyterian Church until it’s closing, when she became a member of Scotch Ridge United Presbyterian Church.

Edith is survived by her sons, Raymond (Mary) Butler and Richard (Sherri) Butler; granddaughters, Samantha Butler and Stephanie Butler; great-granddaughter, Jordyn Butler; brother, Raymond Thompson; her extended family and beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Butler; grandson, Nicholas Butler; parents Raymond and Irene Thompson; brother, Richard Thompson; and her sister, Colleen Reed.
