Sivilay Vorasith

Sivilay Vongkhamchanh was born in Vang Veing Laos on December 7th 1960. His dad was monk Somkit Vongkhamchanh. His mom is Choung Vongkhamchanh and is currently residing in Laos. He has 3 siblings who are currently living in Laos. Sivilay is the oldest of the 4. He graduated with a high school degree in Laos.

He joined the army and worked under Boukeo Vorasith who adopted him.

Sivilay was married to Bounme Sivanvilay and had a daughter together. After she passed away he moved to the United States in 1989. He remarried in 1994 to Manh Quang and had 3 children together.
He currently has 4 grandchildren.

Dad loved to go fishing, hunting and gardening. He liked to hangout with his friends and drink with them on the weekends.

He worked at Titan Tires for 27 years until he was diagnosed with cancer in January 2022.

He was 61 years old when he passed away at home on November 19th 2022. He was surrounded by his families and friends at the time of his passing.

Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Cremation will follow the service. Graveside ceremony will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2022 at Glendale Cemetery.
