Roberta Mona Nelson, 97, passed away on November 8, 2022 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Roberta was born to Robert and Laura (Etta) Kietzman on May 21, 1925 in Albia, Iowa.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Pamela (Lloyd) Kerns; grandsons, Jeremiah (Leslie) Kerns and Chad Kerns; great grandchildren, Grant Kerns and Elijah Kerns; and a host of other loving friends and family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Nelson; parents; and siblings, Ida Nichols, Estella Kietzman, and Carl Kietzman, Jr.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Capital Hill Lutheran Church, 511 Des Moines Street. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Roberta will be laid to rest at Resthaven Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice or visiting nurses for abused children in loving memory of Roberta.

I knew Bobbie from First Lutheran, (Capital Hill Lutheran). She was so friendly and such a hard worker. I am so happy that she is at peace with the Lord now!

Bobbie was a true lady and always a pleasure to talk to. She took her job very serious and did it very well. Her work ethic was admired. Just a great lady that always gave 100% to anything she did. RIP my friend.

Remember her quick wit and kindness when she worked in the O&T bldg answering phones! Also remember MSgt Robert Nelson (yes Bob & Bobby) assigned to 132 Medics! Both were good people and friend to all!
