Lloyd W. "Billy" Burt

Bill was born August14, 1946 and passed away November 5, 2022 surrounded by his family.
Bill was born and raised on the Southside of Des Moines. He attended Weeks Jr. High, where he met his future wife, and Lincoln High School. He excelled in football, baseball and wrestling. Bill joined the Des Moines Fire Department in 1969 and retired after 42 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Bill was an awesome husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved his family fiercely.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Vicki; son, Ron (Janet) Burt; daughter, Diana Bellis (Kevin); brother, Larry (Bonnie) Burt; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 11, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Old Shop Fire Station #1, 9th & Mulberry in Des Moines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Parkinson’s Foundation in loving memory of Bill.

Sorry to see lloyd passed away. I went to school with him from grade school up to high school. He was always a nice person.
