Kenneth “Ken” E. Harrier, 80, passed away on November 7, 2022, at MercyOne Medical Center. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa on June 19, 1942, to Charles and Ruth Harrier
Ken married the love of his life, Rose on October 14, 1963. He was a very talented carpenter and could take any house and turn it into a masterpiece. Ken retired in 2004.
Ken was an avid motorcycle fan, especially Harley Davidson. He owned the one in his photo for 40 years. He enjoyed doing yard work and driving his golf cart around the yard. Ken was a mentor to most everyone he knew.
Ken was a member of the Moingona Masonic Lodge #633 since 2002, Scottish Rite, and the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine in Altoona for almost 20 years as well. He was involved in several clubs at the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine including Sandrunners and Trikes.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Rose Harrier; children, Ken (Rona) Harrier, Jr. and Carol Harrier; grandchild, Harley Ray Kenneth Bryan; siblings, Diana Cannavo, Joy Garrison, Marie Archer, Ruthann Archer, and Mike Harrier; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Charles “Buddy” Harrier, Jr.
Services will be at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., on Thursday, November 17, 2022 with a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

He was apart of Walts life since he was 18 years old He was reason walt became a Mason and a Shriner we would love to be at the visitation for support for all of you but walt works until 6:00 pm and both of us works all day on Friday

Prayers to Rose and family, sorry for your loss,Ken will be missed by many , He was my best mentor / bodyguard during the circus especially when he was a quick draw with his cane to protect Fez from the kids lol ,RIP brother save a chair for me up there for when its my time to join ya and have some Shastas / eye openers

Our prayers go out to Rose and the rest of the family. This was sad and abrupt news as Ken and Rose were always friendly faces as Teresa & I became more involved with Shriners at ZGZ. Ken will be missed by many, RIP Brother.

Wow man, what a shock Prayers out to Rose Kenny lived his life on his terms i respected the man and got to know him pretty well I was his bug guy. I saw him every three months for the last 10 years Ive seen the ups and downs, and with the courage positive attitude that he used to live in his life, made an impact on mine
