Shirley Comegys, 90, passed away on November 1, 2022, at MercyOne Medical Center.
Shirley was born to Francis and Leona (Davidson) Horton on November 5, 1931, in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1950. She worked for Mercy Hospital and retired when she was 65.
She was a loving mother of three daughters, an avid bowler, and liked to travel. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Susan (Marvin) Mills, Patricia Fortune, and Michelle (Jack) Harker; grandchildren, Vanessa (Joe) Osbrink, Ashleigh (Greg) Vize, Jake (Jen) Harker, and Allison Harker; great-grandchildren, Lola, Aurora, Andrew, Ethan, Jett, and Jackson; and a host of other loving friends and family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and one sister.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Shirley.

So sorry to hear this news. I always enjoyed your mom's company so many years ago. There was so much joy and laughter when we saw each other. She will be missed by many.

I always thought your Momma was special and enjoyed sitting behind her for many years at Grace, I have missed her and always happy to run into her.
I'll be out of town this week so I'll miss her service, but I will be remembering all of you in my prayers,
