Joan Frohock
November 03, 2022
Joan Frohock, 83, daughter of the late Dorothy and John M Walton peacefully departed from life at her home on Thursday, November 3, 2022 after a lengthy illness. Joan has deeded her body to the University of Iowa Carver College Of Medicine.
Memorial services are planned for Friday, December 9, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at St Paul’s Episcopal Cathedral, Des Moines.
Joan was born in Des Moines, grew up in northern Alabama, and returned to the Des Moines area after graduating from Stephens College (MO). Joan was also a graduate of both the University of Iowa and the University of Wisconsin before earning her Juris Doctor from Drake University. She was a member of the Iowa Bar Association until shortly before retiring as President of Standard Bearings Companies.
To cherish her memory, Joan leaves her husband Richard, sons Kent and Trent (Robin), and two grandsons.
The family shares much appreciation for the compassionate and ready care afforded Joan by Unity Point Hospice nurses and staff.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund or to a favorite service dog charity are suggested.

Dick, Kent & Trent My thoughts & prayers are with you at this time. My personal prayer is that Joan knew Jesus as her savior, so that you will be re-united when Jesus returns. May you lean & hold onto that promise.
Joan welcomed me to Standard Bearings in 1979 & I have been proud to work for her over these many years.
One of the things that amazed me about her was her adventuresome side. Her trips to China, the things & culture she experienced --well that is special.
I honesty have to say I'm proud to have known her.

Frohock Family,
Words cannot express the emptiness she has left in her passing. Joan was a wonderful woman and will be missed by all whom she met. Lay your head down knowing she is at peace.

Dick,Kent,Trent. Sorry to hear the news of Joan's passing. I always think of her as the quiet, dignified lady until you did something to cross Standard Bearings and she would turn in to a tiger. My condolances to the family.
