Patrick K. Ross

Patrick Kevin Ross, age 75, passed away Monday, October 31, 2022.

Patrick was born July 2, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa to Eileen (Gilmore) and Ernest Ross. He graduated from North High School in 1966. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After his service, he attended Marshalltown Community College. Patrick began his career with the City of Des Moines Public Works Department where he was a Waste Water Treatment Operator for over 36 years, retiring in 2010.

Patrick was united in marriage to Joni Ross in 1992 in Las Vegas, NV. He had a passion for classic cars. He was a member of the Concrete Cruisers. He also enjoyed sports betting and memorabilia. Patrick loved the Kentucky Derby, the Chicago Bears, the Detroit Lions, the Chicago Cubs, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Most of all, Patrick enjoyed socializing with his friends. He was a nice guy who got along with everyone that he met. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church.

He is survived by his partner in crime, Valerie Anderson; his friends, Del and Sharon Palmer; and his godson, Richard Gates.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Eileen and Ernest Ross and his wife, Joni Ross.

Services will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by funeral at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Glendale Cemetery after the funeral.
