Janice I. Groves

Janice Irene Groves, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, October 28, 2022 while under hospice care.

Janice was born at home on September 13, 1943 in Lovillia, Iowa to George and Helen (Phillips) Avon.

She was a homebody who loved her family and holiday get-togethers. Janice was a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan.

Janice is survived by her daughter, Theresa Avon; grandson, Joe Avon (Cola) and their children, Jordan, Noelle, Natalia and Josslyn; grandson, James Avon (Jennifer) and their children, Zoe and Dominic; grandson, Michael Avon and his children, Keira, Kenzie, Lariah, Jordan and Marcellus; granddaughter, Jamie Jackson and her children, Angelena (her child, Ocean), A.J. and Patrick; granddaughter, Dawn Blahnets; sister, Joanie Little (Don); and a huge family of loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Groves; daughter, Lori Avon; parents, George and Helen Avon; and significant other, John Braathen.

According to Janice’s wishes, cremation will occur and there will be no services at this time.
