James Avery, 59, passed away on October 27, 2022. He was born in Des Moines, on November 24, 1962, and attended Saydel High School.
Jim enjoyed fishing, camping, listening to all genres of music, and vacationing in Mexico.
Jim is survived by his father, Richard Ballantini; sisters, Lora (Don) Wyckoff, Kimberly Avery, and Lisa Hobbs; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ballantini; brother, Kenneth Avery III; and grandmother, Ann Wardell.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m., on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., in Des Moines. Burial will follow at Berwick Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. After the graveside service, please join the family for a Celebration of Jim’s Life at Mary Go Round.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Jim.

I am so sorry for your families loss. Jim was a good guy always smiling and polite to me always.
