Mark Steven Carton Sr. 63 of Des Moines, Iowa lost his 5 year battle of cancer October 20, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Mark was born to Jimmie and Clara Carton February 10, 1959 in Birmingham Alabama. He moved to Polk City IA as a baby then to Des Moines in 1966. He attended Saydel Schools.
He married Gail Pinegar April 2, 1977 and they had 4 children. Mark worked beside his dad and brothers as a siding applicator for several years. Mark drove for CR England, Niece Trucking, and Color Converting. He loved driving and was able to take his children and grandchildren on road trips. They loved it as much as he did and they each have their own memories.
Mark loved riding motorcycles, especially his Harley, camping with his family at Jester Park (his old stomping grounds) and going on vacations to Colorado and Florida.
Mark is survived by his children, Shawn (Cody) Current, Mark Carton Jr, Jimmie Carton IV and Joshua Carton. Six grandchildren; Jonas (Briana), Isaac (Ariel), Autumn (Andrew), Tharin (Skylar), Seth (Macey) and Natalie. 14 great grandchildren and 2 on the way. Ex-wife Gail Pinegar Carton. His brothers Jimmie (Cherie) Carton, Ronnie (Chandra) Carton and sister Sheila (Jerry) Rinehart. He was preceded in death by his parents and niece Teri Carton.
A visitation will be held at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens 121 NW 60th Ave in Des Moines on Saturday, October 29th from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m., with the service to follow at 3:30 p.m.

Uncle Mark you will be so missed by so many. We have so many stories I have to share. I am so glad that you are at peace and with Grandpa, Grandma, and Teri. I love you and will never lose any of our memories. Be giving Aunt Dee some heck for us. Love you!
