Betty Blaine

Betty Marguerite Blaine, 98, died Friday, October 21, 2022 at Mill Pond Retirement Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa where she resided over 20 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn (Paul) Mos of Severna Park, Maryland; sons, William (Cheryl) R. Blaine of Ankeny, Iowa and Mark D. Blaine of Jacksonville, Florida; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of over 70 years, William C. in 2011; siblings, Robert Crawford in 2005, Delores Brandt in 2009, Alberta Hartley in 2012, and Joan Foster – Hall in 2018.

She loved gardening, cooking and being a house wife. Betty never met a child she didn’t love; she was loving and kind. She was an avid bowler.

The family would like to thank the residents and staff at Mil Pond for treating our parents like family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
