Bonnie Lewis passed away Friday, Oct 14, 2022 in Des Moines, Iowa.
She was born January 25,1940 in Arapahoe, Nebraska to Miles and Opal Lewis. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Education from Drake University and retired from the Des Moines Public School System.
In her spare time, Bonnie enjoyed sports, music, church activities, and spending time with family and many dear friends.
She will be greatly missed by her many long-time family and friends. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and brothers; she is survived by one sister.
Services will be held Monday, October 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Pkwy in West Des Moines with a visitation and reception following the service. Private burial will be in Arapahoe, NE.
Memorials may be directed to Lutheran Church of Hope of West Des Moines in Bonnie’s name, and condolences expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

I worked with Bonnie at South Alternative/Scavo, she was a well-respected educator and loved by her co-workers. She had a kind heart and a smile for everyone! She has influenced many in positive ways.

Bonnie was a big influence in my young life. Whenever I got to spend time with her, we always had a great, fun time, especially when she took me for a ride in her Plymouth Valiant -- with no particular destination but just for the fun of it. I love her very much and I miss her.

Bonnie was a lovely lady, with great warmth, kindness and a wonderful sense of humor. Her faith, combined with her positive view on life, made her a joy to be around. I will miss you, Bonnie.
