Ronald Tucker
October 17, 2022
Ronald Royal Tucker, 81, went home to be with the Lord on October 17, 2022.
Ron was born on February 18, 1941, in Sac County, IA to “Bertha” (Kluver) and Armold Tucker. He began his education experience in a one-room schoolhouse near Wall Lake and graduated in 1959 at Wall Lake Community. Ron was always a hard worker, and wasn’t afraid to work with his dad and brothers on the farm; whether it was at 5 AM milking the cows, doing chores, driving the tractor planting crops, or in the hot temps of summer throwing hay bales in the barn.
Following graduation, Ron attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake. His love for agriculture took him to Iowa Beef Packers in Fort Dodge. Ron married his high school sweetheart, Betty Friedrichsen, during this time. Ron and Betty were blessed with 3 wonderful children: Jaycene, Jaclyn, and Burk Tucker.
Ron continued his packing house career which led them to Missouri, Kansas, Indiana and back to Iowa. Ron had many passions in life. He loved horses and calf-roped in local rodeos. He, and his brother Bill, raised black angus cattle, horses, goats, chickens, rabbits, and his most current passion, his honey bees. How he loved to talk about and “work” his bees! Many of you are probably recipients of some of the honey Ron raised.
Ron’s greatest love was his Lord Jesus. Reading his Bible, praying, and serving his Lord was not just a love, but a life. He served as Deacon for many years during his life. He loved greeting visitors that came to church and we’ve commented that St. Peter lost his greeting duties now that Ron has arrived! He loved his dear church family! He also recently served with the SAFE program associated with the Iowa Prison System encouraging families and loved ones of incarcerated folk. He and Betty worked with the Fresh Start ladies at Adelphi, and were a witness for Jesus. Ron was a willing servant for the Lord.
Ron loved his family! He was not a talkative fella, but each family member felt that love.
Ron is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty; children, Jaycene (Joe) Baker, Jacki (Joe) Stevens, and Burk (Shawndra) Tucker; grandchildren, Ben (Melissa) Hall, Elyssa Hall, Summer (Ryan) Meyer, Caleb Stevens, John (Jessica) Tucker, Cassie (Josh) Hightower, Mike (Sarah) Baker, and Aerica Baker; great-grandchildren, Miles, Draven, Beila, Drake, Quinton, Harper, Ashten, Rhiannon, Eric, Roman, Giada, Leo and Milo; as well as many other loving family members and cherished friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charley; and several beloved in-laws, Tom Brady, Kay Tucker, Elaine Tucker, Rich Fiete, and nephew, Steve Tucker.
Services will be held at Adelphi Baptist Church, 7925 SE Vandalia Dr. in Runnells, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 22, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 23, with burial to follow at Altoona Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Joppa, A.C.T.S Academy, associated with Adelphi Baptist Church, in loving memory of Ron.
