Daniel Haines, 63, passed away on October 14, 2022, in Des Moines. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on December 30, 1958, to Larry and Karen Haines.
Dan worked for Colonial Bakery. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, coin collector and spent many hours volunteering at his church. Most of all, Dan loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Dan is survived by his children, Andrew (Amanda) and their daughter Emery, John (Cassie) and Phillip and his children Blayne, Bylaec and Braextyn; four siblings, Larry Jr., Ron, Traci and Ranee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; his parents; and two siblings, Shawn and Douglas.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemtery.

Daniel Timothy Haines. Be there or be square. A hick motto Dan lived large by. First, it is your God given right to complain about lifes trials, but then square your shoulders and face the problem down. I know Dans boys, John, Andy and Phillip have the tools to take on lifes hiccups. Dan and Nancy are now a power couple in Heaven. I love you my brother, and I will count on you to see what I can get by with in the great beyond.

Dan was a good friend, like a brother to me. He helped me whenever I needed it. He will truly be missed. May God be with the family during this time of loss. Will miss him dearly.
