Matthew W. Goodin
October 11, 2022
Matthew Wayne Goodin, 46, passed away on October 11, 2022. He was born in Colorado Springs, CO on May 4th, 1976, to Robert and Linda Goodin.
Matt graduated from Narbonne High School in Harbor City, CA in 1994. After high school, Matt began his career at FedEx where he stayed for over 25 years. Following FedEx, Matt remained in the transportation industry, starting his own business, and had just recently started with ABC Supply.
Matt was a Mustang car enthusiast (he wrecked one!). He was an avid racing fan and started racing go carts at the age of 7. As an adult, Matt raced dwarf and modlites for several years.
Matt never knew a stranger. He could talk with anyone about anything and was always ready to roll up his sleeves and help, especially if it involved fixing cars. Matt could be found in his garage fiddling with projects or working in his yard with a Busch Light in hand.
Matt is survived by his loving wife, Laurie Goodin; adoring parents, Robert and Linda Goodin; brother and best-friend, Andrew Goodin; fur children; Maci, Sargie, and Maggie, stepchildren; Amanda (Joe) Harless and Garrett (Sara) Hill. Matt is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandchildren who lovingly called him, Mattpa.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Chester and Maxine Goodin (paternal) and Dean and Dora Jean Sylvester (maternal), and mother-in-law; Glenda Bowden.
Funeral services will be held at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, in Des Moines. Family will greet visitors from (4-7p.m.) on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, with a 12PM funeral service on Wednesday, October 19.

Matt
We are so sad, stunned!! by your untimely passing. You have been a great neighbor, always willing to help us oldies, whether lifting a hundred pound truck tire , solving a mower puzzle or shooting the breeze. A positive guyalways sharing a smile and a laugh.
You will be so missed by everyone whose lives you touched, yours and Lauries house a gathering place, on every holiday and special occasion.
Laurie were just across the road. Our sincere sympathy to both your families.

My heart is sad, gone too soon my friend! Matt was the best to work with! Fun loving great guy, always had a story or joke to keep us laughing. You will be dearly missed my friend. I even got to watch him race in Boone. I always laughed at how he got his long skinny legs in that little dwarf car, and loved every minute of it! My heart and prayers goes out to his whole family at this sad time!

RIP Gone too soon. Ill miss catching up about racing. My favorite race with you is when we raced English Creek in the modlites and we finished 1 and 2. Cant believe I just talked to you Sunday night and you asked me to go with you to the 10k to win modlite race in Texas.
