Lana Irene Ireland

Lana Irene Ireland passed away peacefully on October 8, 2022.

Lana was born to Erma and Edward Doty on April 1, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa. After graduating from East High School in 1965 she briefly worked for Bankers Trust before she met and married Dominic Leone in 1971. Together they raised their 2 children on the southside of Des Moines. Lana was a homemaker and devoted mother. Being an April Fools baby was a source of pride. She never hesitated to play a prank if she could get away with it.

Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Angela Nicole Leone and Michael Dominic E. Leone; sister, Linda Hoffman; brother, Edward Lynn Doty Jr.; as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Erma and Edward Sr.

A celebration of life will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2022, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
