Sheryl Peterson

After a courageous battle against cancer, Sheryl Anne Peterson passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022, with family by her side. Sheryl was born in Bangor, Maine but spent her entire life in and around Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated in 1970 from Ankeny High School. Sheryl attended the Des Moines Area Community College following high school but soon discovered her love of animals. Sheryl dedicated her entire life and career to the caring, training and loving of dogs, having 15 of her own. She was a member of the Des Moines Obedience Training Club for 41 years. She owned and operated All Breed Dog Grooming and Obedience School from 1979 to 2014, then worked at Seelah Kennel from 2014 until she could no more. Sheryl showed standard poodles and beagles in obedience, rally, nosework and confirmation since 1971. She loved her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Georgia Peterson and her K-9 kids, Gigi, Moose, Annie, Chase, Katie Duff, Emma, Widgeon, Hen, George, TJ, Duke, Clark, and LB. She is survived by her K-9 kids, Georgie and Ira, her father, Dean Peterson, siblings, Rick (Judy) Peterson, Bret (Nancy) Peterson, Tina (Dan) Howard, and Thane (Kate) Peterson, 11 nieces/nephews, 16 great nieces/nephews.
