Catherine "Cathy" Jensen

Catherine “Cathy” Dee (Miner) Jensen, age 61, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Cathy was born to Paul Dwaine and Bonna Dee Miner on September 8, 1961.

Cathy attended East High School as a proud Scarlet and graduated in 1979.

Cathy married Steve Jensen on September 29, 1984.

Steve and Cathy lived in Pleasant Hill where they raised two beautiful, amazing daughters. They loved to travel, shop, and purchase artwork. Some of their favorite places to visit were The Whale Tub, Jamaica, San Francisco, and Florida. They also enjoyed Caribbean cruises.

Cathy worked for Wells Fargo for over 25 years. Following that, she worked as the Executive Director for the Pleasant Hill Chamber and her last remaining years at Hy-Vee Pharmacy in Pleasant Hill.

She is survived by her mother, Bonna Dee Miner; daughters, Christina Boeckman (Eric) and Amanda Savage (A. Scott); grandchildren, James Bullington (Jenna), Taylor Bullington, Natalie Savage, A. Rocky Savage, and Avery Boeckman; great-grandchildren, William Bowman-Savage and Paisley Bullington; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

Cathy was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Jensen; her father, Paul Dwaine Miner; and her brother, James Paul Miner.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, Iowa. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. and also at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Taylor House in loving memory of Cathy.
