Richard Maly

Richard Maly, 89, passed away September 21, 2022, at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Richard was born November 1, 1932, in Maryville, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Army. Richard moved to the Des Moines area in 1968. He retired from Armstrong Tire & Rubber in 1994, where he had been a tire inspector for 24 years.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; son, Rick (Joyce) Maly; daughter, Nora Maly; half-sister, Grace Fant; grandchildren, Michael (Vanessa) Maly, Susan (James) Willems, and Kelsey Derringer and great-grandchildren, Elise and Carter.

Private services will be held and Richard will be laid to rest with military honors at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa in loving memory of Richard.
