Theodore Perbera

Theodore Perbera, 87, died on Thursday, September 22, 2022 in Des Moines, Iowa. Theodore was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Annie and Henry Perbera. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War and later came to Iowa to attend the College of Automation. He worked for the State of Iowa before going to work for Allied Insurance where he stayed until his retirement. Theodore was a 40-year member at St. Ambrose Cathedral.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Gayle Perbera of West Des Moines; his daughter, Jennifer Perbera (Chad Van Waardhuizen) of West Des Moines; brother, Patrick (Patty) Holeso of Mililani, Hawaii; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; special family member, Coy Ungemach of McKinney, Texas and Julie Sanders of Weldon, IA; and many friends.
Theodore was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Abe Holeso; sisters, Beatrice Maghinay and Susan Holeso; and brothers, David and Edward Perbera all of Hawaii.
A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1230 Merle Hay Road, Des Moines, IA. Burial will take place on Tuesday, October 4 at 9:30 a.m. at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter with military honors.

I really liked Ted. He was always upbeat, funny, and genuinely cared about you. Glad I was able to work with him at Allied, and got to know him.
