September 18, 2022
Lois Clark, 87, passed away on September 18, 2022, at her home.
Lois was born on April 28, 1935, to Leona and Dick Jones.
Lois was a musician who could yodel and play the bass guitar. She won two yodeling competitions at the Iowa State fair. She taught her son Rusty and nephews, Dan and Monte how to play instruments. She was an avid camper as long as she was in a motorhome. She spent many years camping at Adel and then bought a house out at Lake Rathbun. She loved taking kids and grandkids out on their pontoon boat. She was a champion in playing a game with a family called chicken foot. She loved to shop and loved garage sales. She was caring and loved doing for others. She was her happiest while playing her music for benefits and parties. People loved her wherever she played. Her biggest pride and joy were Charlie, the love of her life, her children, and all of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Clark; sons, Rick (Peggy) Groves, Randy (Jo Ellen) Grove, Robert Groves, Rusty Groves, and Sonny Melbie; daughters, Joyce Thomas, Cindy (Victor) Green, Vicky (Jim) Foster, Kim Clark, and Edie (Danny) Wickenkamp; 28 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other extended families, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Raymond; son-in-law, Steve Thomas; parents, Leona and Dick Jones; brothers, Danny, David, and Frank Jones.
The family will greet friends Monday, September 26, 2022, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Lois will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
