Steven Maine

Steven Philip Maine was born September 23, 1960 in Des Moines, Iowa to the union of Wendell and Florence Maine. Steve began his journey home on September 18, 2022 at the age of 61.

Steve was educated at Ruby Van Meter and graduated in 1982. He was a resident at Link Associates since 1979. While participating in the Vocational Skilled Program, Steve was a part of the Shopper Program and worked at Todd’s Spices. He completed the program in 2015, and decided to retire and enjoy life at home. Steve enjoyed sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes, Camp Wesley Woods and drinking Pepsi.

Steve leaves to cherish his memories one brother, David Maine of Des Moines, Iowa; two sisters, Delores (Jim) Russo of Des Moines, Iowa and Janice Moretti of Naperville, IL; niece, Danielle; nephews, Anthony and Vincent; and a host of friends including Randy and Darwin. Preceding him in death were his parents, Wendell and Florence Maine.

Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m., Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
