Bonita “Bonnie” Rose Guinn, age 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at Acura Health Care of Ames, while under the dedicated care of Suncrest Hospice.

Bonnie was born January 24, 1938, in Estherville, Iowa to Gregory and Elizabeth (Burnes) Bormann. She has been a resident of Iowa her entire life, living in Ames, Emmetsburg, Keokuk, Des Moines, Nevada, and Huxley over the years. Bonnie worked as a Certified Nurses’ Aide during her working years. She was a member of Harvest Assembly of God Church in Huxley, Iowa. Bonnie enjoyed her Church family, her children, crafts, attending exercise class, listening to music and was an avid reader.

She is survived by her children, Don Kalin, Barbara Feller, Dianna Dieter, Shelly Gale and Michael Glick; siblings, Mary Hartman and Jean Reed; 18 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Nelson; her grandson, Greg Dawson; her parents, Gregory and Elizabeth Bormann; and her siblings, Donald Bormann, Janet Broderick and Kathleen Bormann.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
