Floyd N. Baldwin Jr., 77, passed away on November 9, 2009, at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital. He was born on November 18, 1931, to Ireta and Floyd Baldwin Sr. in Des Moines, Iowa.

Floyd was an avid horseman, enjoyed rodeos, horse shows, car shows, football, hockey, baseball, mowing the softball fields for the Urbandale Sports Complex, spending time with his family, and especially loved his dog Holly. He served in the Army during the Korean War, was retired from Mid America Energy after 45 years of service, and was a member of the VFW, American Legion, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA).

Floyd is survived by his long time companion Mary Ann Fallis (Urbandale, IA), sister; Nancy Johnson (Urbandale, IA), daughters; Cindy Green (Webster City, IA), Julie Warner (Mingo, IA) Nancy (Edward) Clark (Auburn, AL), Grandchildren; Anna, Eva and Ryan (Iowa), Thomas, and Heather (Alabama), two great-grandchildren, Hunter, and Chloe, and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lou (Fallis) Baldwin, his parents and his sister Elaine.

Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be Friday at 5-8 p.m., with family present from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be directed toward the American Cancer Society or to the family in loving memory of Floyd.
