Avis Keenan

Avis Keenan, 69, died Monday, November 9, 2009, at Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines. Avis was born on July 12, 1940, in Stratford, Iowa to Alonzo and Icy Powell. She enjoyed life and her grandchildren.

Avis is survived by her sons, Don and Mike; seven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 2009, at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. Burial will be 1:00 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City, Iowa. A visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
