I am very blessed to have known and worked with Carol at East Des Moines National Bank for many years. In fact she hired me. Her life definitely centered around her family and friends. She thrived in social gatherings, baking delicious treats. Her faith and joy was evident in everything she did. Her light is gone from this earth, but surely she is with the Lord now. Her light and influence in her faith made a great impact on my life. Carol will be greatly missed.

So saddened to hear of Carols passing! She was such a sweet caring person and always had a smile for you. She was the one that brought her homemade food and cakes for our birthday parties every month at the Frank Smith senior living. We will miss her dearly. Prayers to the family.

So sorry for the loss of Carol. We only met about 25 yrs ago but you would have thought we were life long friends. Its not hard to become very selfish when referring to Carol just ask anybody who knew her. We felt we were the only ones she doted on fully knowing we were not. Whatever she did for us we felt it was for only for us thats how special she could make you feel. She was the most loving, caring person when it came to helping anyone in need. The best part, she was the same when there wasnt a need. She loved to cook or bake and surprise you with it. She was a faithful, dedicated, selfless worker in our church. Whenever there was a function involving a meal Carol was either in charge or first in line to volunteer. You can ask a bunch of people whats the best thing Carol has baked or cooked for you and you would get different answers for a long time before you got the same answer but for us we are going to miss her oatmeal cake. But not anywhere close to how much we are going to miss her. So, so sorry for your families loss.

My friend Carol, she helped hire me to work at East Des Moines Nat'l Bank back in 1986. She still continued to be a great friend and a wonderful cook! She made 30 cinnamon rolls for Dave's 30th birthday and made the best banana nut bars and frosting. She had a heart of gold and I am blessed to call her my friend.

I met Carol through membership in the American Business Women's Association. She seemed always to have a smile, a desire to mentor and focus on others. Her beets and sugar cookies created highly competitive bidding war at Chapter fundraising auctions!!!!! Her spirit and smile will be missed.

Bob and Linda and the rest of Carol's family,
I knew Carol from her years of working at the bank. I also frequently ran into her while grocery shopping at HyVee. She would always take time to speak to me and ask how things were going.
She was a very nice, sincere
lady. I am sorry for your loss.
