Linda D. Ludwig

Linda Ludwig, age 72, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022. She was born the daughter of Oran & Ruth (Sears) Ludwig on July 2, 1950 in Greenfield, Iowa. Linda was a beautiful human being, inside and out. She earned her nursing degree from DMACC and worked fulltime for many years at East Des Moines Family Cares Unity Point Clinic, and part-time as a phone enumerator for USDA Ag. Statistics at the Federal Building for 30 years.

She enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with her family and friends. Her son, Bryon was her caretaker and took wonderful care of her.

She is survived by her son, Bryon Ludwig; brother, Wilbert; grandchildren, Brooklynn, Bryon, Chelsey, Christopher and Jax; cousins, Deb (Marilyn) and Nancy (Don); and her #2 families, the Kaloides and the Venteichers.

Linda was so kind and selfless. She donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation and Race for the Cure and to the Variety Club Telethon for over 20 years. She also supported the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. When she couldn’t work anymore, she said “What will her patients do without her?” That was who she was – always thinking of others.

Mom – you make all my dreams come true and I wish I could have made all of yours come true.

Celebration of Life will be held from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., with funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Interment will follow at Fontonelle Cemetery.
