Iona G. Robinette

Iona G. Robinette, 94, passed away Monday, November 9, 2009, at Sunnyview Care Center.

Iona was born November 26, 1914, to George and Florence (Bartholomew) Keeley in Des Moines. She worked in maintenance for the State of Iowa.

Iona is survived by her son, Ray Robinette, Jr.; foster daughter, Ruby Vestal; sisters, Hazel Reed and Helen Honnold; grandchildren, Cindie (Mark) Anderson, Brad Smosna, Lynn, Ricky and Butcher Lange; several great-grandchildren; and many other extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Robinette; sister, Margaret Ades; and daughters, Ruth Smosna and Geraldine Lange.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2009, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family encourages guests to dress casually.
