Dennis (Denny, DJ) Jones, 64, of Mitchellville, Iowa passed away peacefully in his home on August 30th.
Denny was a devoted father, husband, brother, and friend. He cherished spending time with his friends and family. He was particularly fond of his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He dedicated more than 40 years of his life to working at Cargill in Des Moines, where he made many life-long friendships. Throughout the years, Denny acquired many hobbies, including hunting, canoeing, and teaching Tae Kwon Do. In his free time, Denny was often seen studying his Bible.
He left a lasting impression on everyone he met and will be missed deeply by all who knew him.
Denny is survived by his children Rachel (Eric) Rouse and Josh (Amanda) Jones; grandchildren, Rijah Rouse and Weston Jones; siblings, Doug Jones, Dave (Rhonda) Jones, Denise (Lawrence) Rogers, and Daryl (Rhonda) Jones; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends.
Denny is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lisa; parents Richard and Donna; and sister-in-law Deborah.
A celebration of life will be held at his home in Mitchellville on Saturday, September 17th from 12:00pm-2:00pm.

Had I known, I would have been there for you. You are missed Mr. Jones. You have been the the biggest influence in my tae kwon do career and my life. . I love you so much. youre my most respected person ever. please watch over my mom who recently passed on March 8, 2023. Thank you so much and I know Mr. Breese Junior passed just recently as well on Saturday March 25th 2023. All these sudden losses is such a hear break to me. tIve been uplifted for the fact that youre in heaven with Jesus now. Watching over my mom and Mr Breese. I love you all and miss you terribly.

My deepest condolences to DJ's family. May you find comfort during this of loss. I worked many years with DJ at Cargill. Have many memories of taking end of month inventories with DJ.

To DJ's family: Our deepest condolences to each of you. May God bring comfort and peace at this time of loss. We will always remember the times we spent with DJ at Cargill, but even more so, the times away from work. We will forever cherish our friendship with such a great guy!
