Veronica “Bonnie” May Cross

Veronica “Bonnie” May Cross passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born the daughter of Melvin & Esther (Fisher) Dalton on May 29, 1944 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Bonnie was a devoted wife and a loving mother. She loved to spend time with family and spoil her grandkids. Bonnie enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, and volunteering at Salvation Army. She would make friends everywhere she went and would always joke with them. She had a way of making people feel special and made sure everyone knew they were welcome into her home.

She is lovingly survived by her husband Jimmy Cross, Sr., sons David Cross (Kathy Conway), Jimmy Cross, Jr., (Tammy Torrey), daughters Diana Miller-Crow (Terry Crow), Deanna Dunn (Doug Herndon), and Dalaiena Dennis (Levi Dennis), siblings, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild on the way, as well as many other loving family members & friends.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, sons-in-law Rowland Miller and Robert Dunn, brother Fred Dalton, and many other loving family members.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Sunday, September 4, 2022, with a memorial service following at 2:30 p.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
