Betty June Pollock

Betty June Pollock, 93, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2022. Services will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA on Friday, October 14, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. Family will greet friends one hour prior.
Betty was born May 11, 1929 in St. Joseph, MO to Ruth Myrtle (Vantrease) and James Franklin Fortune. She graduated from Cambria High School and later married Roy L. Pollock. Betty was devoted to her family and raising her children. She was a talented seamstress and turned this gift into a thriving business. Later, after the children were grown, Betty worked for Des Moines Christian Association at the encouragement of her friends who also worked there. She enjoyed helping others and was a kind neighbor who was always available to assist. Betty was a dog lover her entire life and always had a four- legged friend by her side. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star in her younger years.
Betty will be greatly missed by her children, Kathy Sergio, Randy (Julienne) Pollock, and Michael (Rhonda) Pollock; her grandchildren, Anthony (Oi) Sergio, Leanne Sergio, Megan (David) Daughenbaugh, Zac (Kate) Pollock, Ryan (Shazasha) Pollock, Jacob Pollock and Jason Pollock; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sister, Hazel Cox.

I remember visiting her in the nursing home, I did not know her very well but she was still so nice and i would love the stuff she talked about. RIP Great Grandma Betty

Betty you always gave me the best advice. Helped me decide what issues are important and which arent. What to fight for and what to let go of. I hope I learned enough from you to go on without you. You were more then a neighbor and more then a friend.
