Everett Ewing (McGregor)

Everett Ewing (McGregor), age 59, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2022.

Everett was born April 22, 1963 in Des Moines. He drove a semi-truck and was an extremely hard working man who loved his family. He played the drums and loved to listen to music, travel, and be in nature. Everett was a great cook. He was a giver and an inspiration to others. He was a comedian and liked to make people laugh. He was a man of luxury who loved the finer things in life like his jewelry and cigars. His greatest love was his family and his grandbabies.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Ewing; children, Everett McGregor Jr. (Georisha), Jaleesa Uzoma, Evan Ewing, Tonisha Rumley, and Quintin Bolden; brothers, Terry McGregor Sr. (Kim), Kevin McGregor, Robert E. McGregor Sr., and Jermaine McGregor; sisters, Anna Ricks (Harvey Sr.), Lillie Ward (Antonio), and Marjorie Watson (Frank); sister-in-law, Marsha Sumlin (Roy Sr.); uncle, David “Butch” Williams Sr.; and his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Norman McGregor Sr. and Marjorie K. McGregor; brothers, James Ewing, Kenneth Norman McGregor Jr., and George David McGregor.

A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
