Edina Palmer

Edina Palmer, 47, passed away on August 21, 2022, in Des Moines. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on October 24, 1974, to Eddie Thomas and Dawn Daxon.

Edina loved dragonflies, cooking and baking, playing darts, and going all out for her favorite holidays which were St. Patrick’s Day and Halloween. She also loved watching her kids play sports, and being with her grand babies meant the world to her!! Edina enjoyed dancing with her husband Jay, and singing loudly. She was the most caring, wisdom speaking, down to earth woman anyone’s ever met!

Edina is survived by her husband, Jay; children, Keevan (Alyssa) Taylor, Tajia Taylor, Jaelynn Palmer, Thea Palmer, Kylen Taylor and stepson, Andrew Thompson; grandchildren, Aubreanna, Jayla, Madyson, Jaycee, Jacob Jr., Jaeli, and Noah; siblings, Michelle Daxon-Ashpaugh, Evena Wash-Bennett and Chance Thomas; mother, Dawn Daxon; nieces and nephews, Daxon, Declan, Nisha, DeQuinn, Kalishia, Mikayla, Evan, Chance, and Lexi; and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her son, Eddie Taylor, father, Eddie Thomas; and brother-in-law, David Ashpaugh; uncle, Tim Daxon; and maternal grandparents.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, with visitation beginning at 12 p.m.
