Frank E. Sears

Frank E. Sears of Des Moines, Iowa passed away peacefully on August 21, 2022, at Sunny View Care Center in Ankeny, IA.
Frank was born in Bentonsport, IA. He lived in the community with his parents Frank Sr and Ethel Sears. He attended school in the Bonaparte Independent School District and graduated from high school in 1951.
Frank served in the United States Army and was a Korean War Veteran. He attended Parsons College and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. It was here that he met Betty Jones whom he later married. They had three children: Gloria Sears, Marvin Sears (Kari), and Craig Sears.
He enjoyed time with his friends at Pioneer Columbus Senior Center and B&B Grocery in Des Moines as well as cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Frances (Sears) Rector, and grandson Robbie Sears. He will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 26, 2022, with a funeral service following at 1:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Sunny View Care Center and Suncrest Home Health and Hospice for providing such loving care to Frank.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the family for distribution to a local charity or to Pioneer Columbus Senior Center in Frank’s honor.
