David Smith

David "Little Dave" Smith, 40, passed away at his home Saturday, November 7, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2009, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Little Dave was born February 23, 1969, in Sigourney, Iowa. He was a construction worker and a member of Local #177. Little Dave enjoyed fishing, hunting and going to the casino.

Little Dave is survived by his son, Davie, Jr.; mother, Judy Smith; companion, Tracy Boatwright; brothers, John, Tom (Diane) and Billy (Robin) Smith, all of Des Moines; step-brothers, Jeremy and Jason Smith of Sigourney, Iowa; grandmother, Geraldine Smith; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Smith; grandparents, Noble and Jean Floyd and Wayne Smith; and his uncle Mike Smith.
