Robert Bruce Cole

Robert Bruce Cole, 94, passed away August 19, 2022 at Park Ridge Nursing Home in Pleasant Hill, IA. Services will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA with visitation from 12 to 2 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.

Bob was born October 21, 1927 to Clyde and Verna Houge Cole in Ames, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 46 and was stationed in Japan. Bob married Donna Sparks of Boone, IA on August 6, 1949 in Ames. They were the proud parents of five children. Bob retired from Anderson-Erickson Dairy in Des Moines. Prior to moving into Eden Crest at Green Meadows, an assisted living facility in Johnston, IA, they lived in Ankeny, IA for 47 years. Bob was a wonderful husband and father and will be truly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Donna; daughters, Connie Cole of Des Moines, IA, Christin Cole of Urbandale, IA; sons, William Cole (Arleen) of Phoenix, AZ, Steven Cole (Kathy) of Clive, IA, and Kent Cole (Nancy) of Cedar Rapids, IA; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Ashlee Lund; and daughter-in-law, Donna Jean Cole.
