Barbara Gomez

Barbara Gomez, 70, passed away on August 16, 2022, in Des Moines. She was born in Grand Junction, CO on October 15, 1951, to Clarence and Lillian Ellis.

Barbara was a very simple person. She was always laughing, goofy, and loved to dance. Barbara loved to talk with family, sometimes about good memories and sometimes politics. She worked hard to provide for her family, and no matter what she was there for her kids. Barbara had a beautiful soul.

She loved helping people, and taking care of them. Barbara found great joy in her job at Calvin Manor, where she worked for over 20 years. She was a mother to all, especially her siblings. Barbara had an open heart for everyone.

Barbara is survived by her children, Nikki Beery and Marvin (Missy) Brown; grandchildren: Kylie, Autunm, Mikey, Kourtnie and Lacey; great-grandchildren, Konnor, Adalynn, Emberly, Riley, Madden, Halston, and Zaydeighn; siblings, Patricia (Jerry), Clarence (Kim), Don “Skip” (Franny), and Oran (Rexine); many nieces, nephews and other loving family members.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
