Service Details

Raye Anthony Booker passed peacefully from life to eternity on August 13, 2022, surrounded by his wife and family.

Raye loved the Lord and was baptized at an early age where he was a member of the Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life he served as a deacon at the Mount Hebron Baptist Church. Eventually, he moved his membership to the former Cornerstone Family Church and drove the church van for many years.

Raye was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan. Raye worked hard and was a very proud business owner. He fulfilled a lifelong dream to be the CEO of his own construction and remodeling company, Another Chance Construction. He loved mentoring youth and coached several youth basketball teams.

Raye loved traveling to see his family and to see new places. His hobbies included fishing, golfing, football, basketball, and just being at family gatherings. He also loved cruising around in his Silver Corvette and Black Jaguar. He was also a member of the Royal Dukes.

Raye united with Nina on July 2, 2017. Raye fulfilled Nina’s wish to build a house. And a “house” it is, fondly known as the hotel. Raye spent many evenings enjoying his “man cave” adorned with plenty of Cowboys paraphernalia.

Raye served our country in the United States Navy.

Raye was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Geneva Bagby-Heath, father Ralph Booker, two brothers, Ralph Mark Booker, and George Arnold Booker; a niece, Tiffany James, and a nephew Michael J. Booker, Jr. He also leaves to cherish his memories, a wife, Nina M. Booker, two sons, Raymond (Janet) Booker, Anthony Booker. Step children Misha Koger, Joseph Koger, Jr., Tiffany Koger, Jeremy Koger, and Jaden Koger. Two grandsons Raymond Booker III, Reilly Booker; four brothers, Michael Booker, Lonnie (Gwen) Booker, Tim Booker, Isaac Kendall Quinn; and three sisters, Geneva Daye, Marjorie James, and Sherrie (Harry) Colbert. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, step-grandchildren, and close friends.
