Michael J. Leo, age 66, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 15, 2022 at his home. He was born the son of Michael & Marian (Clough) Leo on December 31, 1955, in Des Moines, Iowa.

Mike graduated from Lincoln High School in 1974. He spent most of his career as the owner of Central Iowa Hardwood Floors. His commitment to quality work and craftsmanship will be a lasting gift to all his clients who will enjoy their beautiful hardwood floors for years to come. In what limited time he had outside of work, Mike enjoyed going to Prairie Meadows and watching his favorite sporting events. He was an avid Hawkeye fan and he and Debbie attended many Iowa Bowl games. Above all, Mike loved his family and family get togethers. He enjoyed watching his grandkids play in the pool at his home and attending their activities and sporting events. He was a very dedicated “Papa” and was adored by his family.

He is survived by the love of his life, Debbie Schroder, stepchildren Kendra Lowe (John), Shawna Jesse (Chuck Morrison), grandchildren Hunter Jesse, Payton Jesse, and Sean Sickels, sister Ginger Leo, and may other loving family members.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Michael & Marian Clough Leo, and sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Bill Park.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
