Jerry Mericle

Jerry Ronald Mericle, age 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.

Jerry was born September 22, 1941, in Iowa City, Iowa to Cecil Robert Mericle and Evelyn Doris (Mason) Mericle. He has been a resident of the Des Moines area his entire life. He worked in Insurance as a courier until his retirement.

He loved cars, he loved to take care of his cars and put all the accessories on them. He also loved to spend his weekends with his wife down at their lake house. Jerry took pride in his homes and automobiles.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2022 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, and will be followed by burial at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude children’s hospital.
