Marlene Griffiths

Marlene Griffiths was born March 5, 1962 in Des Moines, the daughter of James and Marcia (Rosevear) Griffiths. She passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the age of 60.
Marlene was a Correctional Officer at the Mitchellville Women’s Correctional Facility for many years. She was an avid Minnesota Vikings football fan and enjoyed traveling. Above all else, Marlene treasured time spent with her family and special friends.
Marlene is survived by her daughter, Jordawn (John) Williams; grandchildren, Jax and JoElla Williams; siblings, Debbie (Rick) Grace, Kim Salgado and Jim (Teresa) Griffiths; nephews, Donovan Salgado and Ryan (Meredith) Wright; her fur babies, Kodi and Gabe; other loving relatives and many special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her niece, Ashlea Griffiths.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2022 at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery.

It was a pleasure getting to know Marlene at ICIW. I have many really fond memories of her and conversations we had in passing, over the years. I send my sincerest condolences to her family and friends. I know she will be missed.

Marlene was truly one of the nicest, funnniest, spunkiest person Ive ever known. Her and Hannah sure had a special bond. My family loved her. May she Rest In Peace. Much love to you Jordawn and to your family.
