Jamie “James” Michael Hastie, age 50, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022.
James was born June 13, 1972 in Des Moines, Iowa to Jim and Grace (Pirillo) Hastie. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1990. He loved going fishing and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. “Faith, Family, and Football” sums up James perfectly. Most important of these three was his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Jasmine, Zoe, and Destiny Hastie, and their mother, Michelle Hastie. He is also survived by his mother, Grace (Jamie) Higdon; siblings, Pete (Brenda) Pirillo, Jesse (Jody) Hastie, and Mary Sue DeGarcia; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family members.
James was preceded in death by his father, Jim (Scheryl) Hastie, all of his grandparents, and many dear friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life service on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at Fellowship Community Church, 225 North Avenue, Norwalk, IA 50211.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of James.

James, I'm sorry we lost touch over the past few years. Time goes by fast. You are and always will be one of the best friends that I have ever had. We have been through a lot in our lives together.. I have alot of memories of my cousin Jamie. I remember when he got his red Scooter/Moped and came over to show it off. He convinced me to go on a ride around the yard on it.. So many more memories!! all my love to everyone he will live on in our memories.

oh james, weve lived together for a couple years now and i couldnt thank you enough for any and everything you have done for me to be happy. you always put me above yourself and would call to check on me! it still doesnt feel real, but me, brooklyn and dad love and will miss you forever. im so happy you have laid to rest in peace💔 i love you so very much uncle james!
