Niels Nielsen

Niels Nielsen, 86, passed away July 26, 2022 at Adel Acres in Adel, Iowa. Niels was born July 23, 1936 in Audubon, Iowa to Julie and Peder Nielsen. He joined the US Army and served for four years in Germany. Following his honorable discharge, Niels went to work for Bob Mason Heating and Cooling in Ankeny and later worked for Ryco in Grimes as a Machinist. After marrying Linda, the couple moved to Fairfield, IA where they stayed for many years. Niels was a talented handyman and could fix most anything.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids and was always good for a story that made you laugh out loud. Eating out at local buffets was another favorite pastime.

Niels is survived by his children, Jullie Richmond, Valerie (Richard) Wahl and Tara Widmer; and his sister, Betty Duff. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda Nielsen; his brother, Marvin Nielsen; and his sons, Tiff and Peder Nielsen.
