Martha Bettencourt

Martha T. Bettencourt, age 91, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022 at her home in Des Moines.

Martha was born July 10, 1931 in Catalina, Puerto Rico to Domingo Torres and Monse Rodriguez Torres. She has been a resident of the Des Moines area since 2003. She worked in Rehabilitation for the Salvation Army for 19 years. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers, and children. Martha loved talking with her neighbors.

She is survived by her son Charles (Linda) Holder, grandchildren Amy (Scot) Siemer, April (Patrick) Stamper, Amanda (Daniel) Steffens, and Aaron (Tara) Holder, 15 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents Domingo and Monse Torres and her son Danny Holder.

She was one of a kind, a beautiful sole and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

In accordance with Martha’s wishes, her body has been cremated and no services are planned.
